Background/History
I love Motorcycles. It started probably toward the end of high school, when my shop teacher would have it moto-x bike in and I thought it was such a great machine. Im not even sure exactly what bike it was anymore, but thats what got me hooked. Originally I was really interested in cruisers. I thought choppers were cool (even though it was more like classic bobbers that I really was attracted to) so I watched alot of the TV shows on discovery back then. It was really popular at the time and that somehow, got my wheels turning. I tried a couple of Ebay transactions freshman year of college but nothing ever materialized.
Finally after my friend Ben really upped my interested with his shed full of bikes and parts, I bought a 1981 Yamaha XS-650 ( I think it was 81 anyway). I still think thats a really nice simple motorcycle. 2 cylinder, air cooled British style twin. I learned on that and got my license with it. You never forget your first. That summer was exciting. My parents would have nothing to do with me having a motorcycle so I had to hide it at a friends house behind his garage. I used to walk or ride my bicycle the 3 miles or so to his house to ride the rest of the way to where I was going. Very often it was longer than If I was just to walk there. I remember how difficult it was pushing it right into the spot it needed to be behind the garage because of all the rocks and bumps. Any bike seems really heavy when your new to motorcycling. I put a few thousand miles on it that summer but unfortunately, I blew a dime size hole in the one piston while scooting along the thruway and my friend graciously had to come rescue me with his pickup the next day. I havn't been into motorcycles since I was 3 or anything, but I have enough love for them that I hope you'd never know I wasnt born on one.
Eventually I would like to get some pages together about the bikes I have currently:
1984 Honda CB700sc ,
2004 Honda ST1300,
1974 Honda CB360, and the
1973 Honda XL100.
